The Social Media Engagement Strategy You Need

We’ve heard it time and time again: you need to engage on social media.

But who has time for that?

By the end of this post, you will, because I’ll teach you my 15-minute strategy that will help you to increase your engagement and get more eyes on your own social media accounts.

What does it mean to engage?

Engagement consists of being social on social media (shocking, I know.) Gone are the days we push information out and call it a day. Instead you’ll want to use your platforms to build connections, foster trust and increase your outreach efforts.

Here’s what you can do:

  • Like and comment on posts of accounts you follow
  • Like and comment on posts within your industry
  • Respond to comments on your own posts
  • Like, react and/or reply to stories on accounts you follow
  • Share posts to your stories that align with your message (from accounts you trust)

What this does for you

Engaging can benefit your account in a variety of ways, including:

Shows you are a real account. Social media algorithms are looking for accounts who are active, showing there is someone running the account as a personal account would be run.

Humanizes your account. You don’t want to be a talking head who only sends out messages. By taking time to engage within your account, you offer your audience an opportunity to get to know more about you and/or your agency they otherwise may not see.

Makes people want to engage with you (and they don’t already follow you). When others are reading the comment section of other accounts within your industry, it is probable they will find your account’s information valuable as well. Even if they do already follow you, engaging with content they are engaging with will boost your content closer to the top of their feed because it signals to the algorithm there is mutual interests involved.

The best part? This can be done in as little as 5-15 minutes per day.

How do you set aside time in your busy day to make this happen? Set a daily alarm to engage consistently!
